This week my share is a picture of SGRR locomotive number 1. John Allen had an "Old Number One" on his layout, and I thought I should have one also.
The model is just Bachmann's John Bull.

On 'fleabay' I purchased three buildings. They arrived yesterday. Not great, but at a fraction of real price new. I bought them to go in an area of the layout that was imo not right. All three were the same colour as the top one; not right for the area modelled. Therefore they are being painted Leeds red brick colour. New signage to be added etc.

Good morning from cold, cloudy and snowy Northeast Ohio! Do I sense a trend here!
Kevin, thanks for starting us out, nice black & white picture, I don't have anything like that in my collection except the old Mantua General.
I did manage to finish a couple of cars this week!
IMRC 40' 12 Panel 10' IH Boxcar kit, added an 8' Superior Panel Door after I cut 6" off the top and installed a new evergreen piece on top. Painted with Scalecoat II NP Light Green and lettered with Tichy Decals. Car was used in general service on the EJ&E.
Next a Walthers Channel side 89' Piggyback Flat, set up to hold two 45' Trailers, painted with Scalecoat II NP Dark Green and lettered with Herald King Decals. The trailers were painted over 40 years ago and I finally got around to adding a trailer to haul them, also a picture with a 45' trailer on the flat.
I also managed to do some work on a Front Range RBL kit, where I removed the cast on stuff on the underframe and added a Cal-Scale Hydracushion kit then added the airlines and rodding using .012 brass wire.
Bowser NKP Phase III RS-3 engines powering a general freight on the Strongsville Club Layout.

I added some ripples to get rid of the mirror-like surface on the epoxy resin beaver pond at the bottom of the steel trestle, on the N-Scale Housatonic RR.

I'm still beating away at this 35 tonner. In any reference pictures I have access to, I note that no 25 or 35 tonners have a 44 tonner type hood. So, I used the 70 tonner hood as it's much closer.
Not real obvious in that picture is that the hood was too wide for a 35 tonner. I came to that realization after gluing all the lead weight in it so tearing it all apart was a real pain.
It got narrowed about 9 scale inches, it helped considerably. I have no drawings, so Just going by looks.
I've had these scratchbuilt side frames floating around for probably 15 or more years, I don't even remember what they were going to go on, but they matched up! The "bearings" are red tail lights off a 1/25 truck model.
Still a way to go. It weighs over 10 oz, lead packed in everywhere it will fit.

Kevin - Neat little loco there. Once the new layout is a bit farther along, one scene will be a rail museum, with a couple of steam locomotives on display. It will host occasional excursions for my powered steam locomotive to pull when I feel the need to run it. However, it is not number 1.
David - Neat shops you found.
Rick J - Nice progress on the cars. The details you put on really make them great models.
N-Scale Housatonic RR - I like the beaver pond, seems like a calm location to watch trains soaring by on the high steel above from.
Dan - Good progress on the 35 tonner.
Pike-62 - Nice beer cars.
E-C-Mills - Shows are great, nice job on the display.
Layout is coming along, next benchwork section needs started though. In the meantime, I found a Fast Tracks turnout jig at a very reasonable price, so I have started to learn how to build turnouts with it. Completed my first, and have started on the second (better) one using what I learned off the first one.

the rs32 and s1 are the first of two yard slug sets. the rsd15 still in cartie paint is the mother unit of the second set.
I dont like the weathering on the nose of the rs32
