Yes,that was overkill but,it nice to know you have enough batteries while railfaning.</p> <p>[/quote]</p> <p>My comment was a joke.  The fact that you feel a need to keep extra batteries around lends credence to my point.   </p> <p>[quote user="BRAKIE"]Two rechargeable AA's could be used to power our locomotives.[/quote]</p> <p>But why would you want to?  You still need to charge them, which means a charging circuit and a plug jack that would need to be hidden; or cyclic stress from handling the locomotive/removing the access plate to get to the battery. </p> <p>Also thats only 3V dc (2xAA).  Enough to turn on the LEDs.  You could also turn the motor slowly. </p>
