Great Deals in Hemet CA !
Posted by wjstix on Monday, November 14, 2022 10:29 AM

Last week my wife was visiting family in the LA area, and when they stopped in at the Angel View Resale Store in Hemet CA, they found the store had about 50-60 HO model railroad items for sale. She sent me pics on her phone and based on that I had her buy a couple of things at very good prices.

- Athearn Undec Challenger (G9120) for $124.95

- A-A set of BLI Baldwin Centipede demonstrators (BLI 2094) for $89.95.

Both Centipedes are powered, with DCC/Sound, as is the Challenger. Both items appeared to be 'new old stock' - in their original boxes, with the small bags of detail parts unopened, paperwork included, etc. Best I can work out, both items originally sold for around $350 or so.

Anyway, there are other items still there, including what looked to be an SP U-50, and a number of freight cars, all in original boxes. If you live in the Southern Cal area, might be worth checking out.

Sounds like a great score!

I have been lucky at Thrift Stores and Antique Malls a couple of times.

Please share pictures of your new treasures in Weekend Photo Fun next weekend!

Thanks! I'll make a trip out there if I can.

Thank you for this! I went today, it was mostly cleaned out, but I did get a couple of cool cars and a pair of locomotives that I'm sure somebody at my club will want. Jealous that I miss those centipedes though! Thanks again. Still lots of Kato track, by the way, if somebody is looking for that sort of thing.
