Best deals at the Springfield Show
Posted by CPPedler on Thursday, January 20, 2005 6:51 AM
I'm coming over next week for the Springfield Show and was wondering if anyone would know which stands are likely to have the best deals on BLI SD40-2 locos and on Helix Humper motors???? I know there are dozens of traders there, just wondering which would be best.[:)]

First of all go to the bank and get american dollars don't come with yuros or canadian
money.
Second try to make offers, allot of the dealers will bargin on the price.
See the whole show first and take notes on the prices it's 5 an 1/2 acres of
walking.
I've gone to allot of shows and found out I do better with Discount houses like the ones
in modelrailroader than at the shows even with the s/h .
Have a great time and welcome to the US.

Heh. Changing from British Pound Sterling to American Dollars at the current exchange rate automatically reduced the cost of everything in the show by almost half.

Am I right?

Thankyou Mike, I can't wait till the 29th , just itchin to get there and I'll certainly be bringing some (well quite a few !!! ) greenbacks. I understand it's one of the biggest shows in the States. Plenty to drool over!!
Yes, you are sure right HighIron2003ar , a very good exchange rate at the moment it would be stupid to miss the opportunity.
If you guys are going I hope you find all you want. Good Luck CPPedler.
