<p>Jeremy - similar things have been predicted before, but (fortunately) never happened. Believe me, DCC will be around for many more moons.</p> <p>DCC is a world-wide standardized product. Bernhard Lenz, the inventor, had the luck to involve the NMRA at a fairly early stage and was able to help define the DCC standards.</p> <p>Any other technology will have to get the NEM and NMRA approval as a standard technology, before it may have the chance to grow beyond a proprietary system for a handful of users - I have my doubts that this will happen.</p> <p>As I see it, there is hardly any benefit or extra value in BlueRail train control, if you stay with track power.</p>
