Your pick in the AFC championship game--the road to Super Bowl XXXIX
Posted by n2mopac on Monday, January 17, 2005 8:41 AM
Personally I like the Steelers, since Payton Manning and the Colts lost it last weekend. Right now the Steelers are my fovorite to win the Super Bowl as well. What do you think? If you prefer NFC, there is a poll for that game as well.

It's time for the Steelers to have a shot! I'm pulling for the rookie QB Ben Rothlisberger. It should be a great game though, the Pats are looking hard to beat. Just my 2 cents....

And this topic has what to do with railroads, modelrailroading, modeling? I must have missed the connection. I live in Minnesota, the Queens lost this weekend to somebody! I hate that Sundays are pre-empted for football and now this forum has football on it. Yes, I didn't have to visit here and I won't visit here again!

Isn't there a website devoted to this topic that you guys could go to to exchange jock talk?

I'm rooting for Pittsburgh, but I think New England will win.
Enjoy

What railroad serve them??

Well, there's no greater pain
Than enduring the pain
Of riding a train
On the Boston and Maine.

The Steelers were a gust of wind away from losing to the Jets. The Pats, on the other hand, taught a schoolboy's lesson to the highly-touted Colts. From the weekend's viewing, I'd say New England could take Pittsburgh even if they brought back the ghosts of Harris, Bleir, Mean Joe Green and Terry Bradshaw. Oh, wait, we probably will see the ghost of Bradshaw...

The Steelers bragged the last time back in 2001, and were beaten by the "wild card" Patriots. When the Patriots lost their only game this year to the Steelers, Patton was not playing. I was not impressed with the Steelers game at home against the Jets, they looked pathetic.
The Patriots are "no brag, just fact" !! They represent all of New England and Northeast Canada too, but they have players from many different states.

I voted for the NFC, but I guess if I had to offer an opinion on who I'd like to win, it would probably be the Patriots especially after seeing the nail biter of a game the Steelers had this past weekend. While I give my utmost respect to the rookie qb -whats his name - ( Starts with an R, that much I know [(-D] ), I doubt he can hold up to the pressure of playing in the big game. So after seeing how the Steelers barely made it past the Jets, thats why I say the Patriots are gonna to the Super Bowl.

While the "queens" were losing this week, at least Randy Moss didn't moon the crowd, although after hearing how Green Bay fans treat the visiting teams, it makes a little more sense.

I like this tread, it shows how diverse us train guys can be. We can enjoy trains, football, trains, women, trains, food, trains, kids, trains, movies; see, there is more to life than just trains. [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Ron, we all know the NFC will be beat by any of the last 3 teams, Steelers, Patriots, Colts, and biasedly my Chargers, so this weeks AFC is the true superbowl.

Based on track record, see the train reference, Pats should handle Steelers, even without the home field. Defense is tremendous, offense doesn't seem to make mistakes. Both teams were built better than my west coast team. Jets made Steelers work, and Pats taught Colts how to play.

Take care all

Tim

They should just move the Super Bowl to Beaver Stadium, so that its a shorter drive out to State College for Steelers and Eagles fans.

The Steelers have had a good year, and are a very good team. However, the Patriots are a great team, and have the experience at this time of year. The Steelers had enough problems with the Jets, and will have more with the Patriots. [2c] PS...Lets try to relax a little...I mean, yes its a model railroad forum, but can't we bs a little about football or whatever once in a while ? [soapbox]

Personally, I think every playoff game and every Super Bowl should be played in Green Bay--out door, 20 degrees in the snow. Now THATS REAL FOOTBALL!!!![:D]

The Pats again this year will go all the way. After the job they did on the 4th best ranked offense of all time how can anyone not go with them? I am a die hard New England fan in all sports. Go Pats [:)]
