Well, tickled by the Lego train video I made a trip upstairs into the spider-infested attic and started searching for some old train stuff I knew I had stowed away in some of those unopened boxes up there. Heureka! I found a few lengths of old Marklin track and a power pack!

In no time, the track was set up and the power pack connected. I put my old Marklin loco on the track, applied a little bit of power and - it ran! Just like a charm! After being relegated to shelf duty for 25+ years!

Talking about quality! Alas, they don´t make `em like that anymore!

The diecast zinc alloy body looks as pristine as ever and the lettering is still crisp - wonderful!

I gave her a full service and I promise it won´t take another 25 years until she runs the next time!
