I used goo-gone and while it worked when you first put it on, after a while when it evaporated it just turned back to gunk. I then tried rail zip and it worked ok. But yesterday I tried Flitz metal polish and it worked great. (see my other post on "cleaning with metal polish". <br /> <br />I have sound decoders in my locomotives and clean rails is a must. If you don't have 100% clean rails you hear it.
