Good Morning!

Today is the heyday of this year´s Carnival season in Germany, usually celebrated with big parades in the cities of Cologne, Düsseldorf and Mainz and numerous other towns and cities. But there won´t be any parades today - they have been cancelled due to a bad storm expected to hit. It´s more of a political than a real storm...

I found an interesting video on life in Germany in the early 1950´s . Watching it brought back many a fond, but also not fond memory of my childhood days.

A pretty good description of how life was in those days! Things have changed dramatically since then. The lack of cars in the 1950´s is intriguing! In 1956, my year of birth, we had a little over 2.1 million cars in Germany or 1 car for 215 people now the figure reads 42 million or 1 car for 1.8 people - what a change!

Well, today my saw should be arriving, so that puts and an to the dust truce!

Have a good one!
