Seems a bit strange, because we all know that F/E unit horns were VERY different from SD40-2 horns. F/E unit horns were very low, SD40-2 horns were a bit higher. Even though I know this is true, all diesel engine horns sound the same to me. One time a GP38 and an ACC4400 went past me over a span to 10 minutes and I heard no difference in the horn sound.
