In the ancient past, C&NW commuters, C&NW trains pulling with the occasional UP (in the early 70s), SP, D&RGW, or N&W (leased or bought & not repainted, not sure). I seem to remember also seeing B&O or C&O. Of course, UP's about as common as dirt around here now. And the late, great Wisconsin Central. White Pass & Yukon CN CP SOO Milwaukee Road Amtrak (Hiawatha and Empire Builder) Santa Fe (hauling at over 70 mph southbound between Matfield Green and Cassoday, KS) I think I remember seeing a big white F7 or 9 in Sarasota when I was 3 (mid-60s), and maybe a BL2. I saw Milwaukee Road #2057 two years ago switching in Milwaukee at Froedtert Malt. And just today saw a Wisconsin & Southern way freight go by pulling one car. As many places as I got to when I was a kid, it's a wonder we didn't get stopped by more trains (dad had 2 weeks off every July for factory shutdown & inventory).
