Wife Shops at Rocky Mountain Train Show
Posted by Obrgreup on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 11:54 AM

What happens when you take your wife to the Rocky Mountain Train Show ? You come home with stuff you wanted, and stuff she shopped for too. Oh, and she likes Flamingos, which is the basis for this week's project - ESCAPING FLAMINGOS!

Easy project for novices if you have never built anything with basswood, but can become as complicated as your imagination is. HOn3 run by at the end of the video.

Soooo, my layout's story behind this project is going to be that Bugsy Siegel's girlfriend's nickname was 'Flamingo', which is why he named his casino opened in 1946 in Las Vegas 'The Flamingo'. He ordered some of the pink birds from Florida for the opening. These flamingos escaped and never made it to Nevada.

Being from Baltimore, the cult movie by John Waters (also did Hairspray) Pink Flamingos comes to mind.  They were the lawn ornament of the "most disgusting family in America"

The movie was one of the most disgusting movies in America too.  After watching that movie, flamingos and dog walking were never the same.

But good luck with your project.
