Wish list for Santa
Posted by robert sylvester on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 7:10 AM

Blindfold

Anybody have a wish list for the jolly old elf, I do, but I may have to get permission from the wife depending on cost. I would like to add Bachman's new Penn K-4, the streamlined version to the roster. Also, I love brass passenger cars, I have some for Pennsy, Union Pacific, Southern-complete train sets, but I would like to find a few under the tree. Maybe even a nice brass steamer just to complete the picture. I may have to settle on some of BLI's Pennsy heavy weights, they actually look good.

Whatever I recieve it will be greatly appreciated. May she will just let me go to Columbia, SC, and visit my favorite hobby shop and buy something for my stocking. The best to all this holiday season and I hope in some way that Santa will be good to all of you.

My wish list is a short one.

Aside from peace on earth, my wish is a rather exotic loco (for the members of this forum, that is). I am a great fan of Swiss narrow gauge trains and I would just love to have one of the newly released MDS Modell N scale Rhaetian Railway class Ge 4/ II locos with DCC & sound, just lie in this video:

I am afraid it will have to remain a dream wish!

Happy times!

Not celebrating Christmas, I don't have a list.  My holiday came well-before and I got the Walthers Cement plant.  That structure is keeping me plenty busy.

Having a list is a fantastic idea.

Hi, Robert

Just poking my nose into your wishlist a bit here. I have several of the BLI P70 coaches and they are a very nice model. MTH offers some PRR heavyweights that are also worth a look. I bought this set of two and was impressed enough to go back and get the five-car set as well:

https://www.modeltrainstuff.com/mth-ho-80-40002-heavyweight-baggage-and-sleeper-passenger-set-pennsylvania-railroad-2-car-set/

Average cost is around $70/car. About the going rate for lighted cars with interiors.

The five-car set includes the "Queen Mary" a parlor-observation car that was often seen on the PRR's special Army-Navy trains.

Just letting you know about the nice MTH cars as another option.

For me, every day is like Christmas on the layout Big Smile

Cheers, Ed

Santa AKA Trainworld dropped a walthers Plymouth ML-8 switcher off for a test run before Christmas.  I think it had something to to do with Santa's return policy.  It was tested and returned to Santa (In my living room not Brooklyn) for delivery on or about December 25th.

42 Tortoise Switch Machines.

.

Santa, I have been a very good boy, and I really deserve these. Oh, and 42 DPDT toggle switches and 84 SPDT lever snap switches. 42 card connectors. Maybe about 400 feet of stranded 22 gauge hook up wire in 10-12 colors. A good power supply to run all the Tortoises at once. Maybe a half dozen of the remote mount kits.

.

That should do it.
