I use acrylics too and so far they have held up very good with just one exception, HANDRAILS! Acrylic paint is pretty tough stuff. But on handrails, that's another story. So I try not to touch the handrails, they paint chips off easily. I tried to use hot water to remove acrylic paint on the side of a loco and it wouldn't come off, only gets dull. I think you'll be fine.
