Today's MR website posts the new products announced at the Amherst show. Quite a list of nice stuff! I'd like to get to that show at least once.

Since I haven't seen much on forums other than the HO engines and rolling stock already announced so the list on MR seemed to consist mostly of non rolling stock items - quite a list there.  I'm still looking forward to pending announcements from ExactRail, Tangent and Athearn that must not be ready for prime time yet.

Anyone have an idea as to the visitor head count, Saturday and Sunday?  I had a table there and pretty much sold out by Saturday noon, but crowd seemed lighter than usual.

Maybe the weather wasn't bad enough.

Total ticketed attendance for the two days was 17,305.  Lower than the past few years but still respectable.

Hmm, Saturday was a pretty decent day weather-wise for January in W. Springfield - not sure about Sunday.  The show organizers need to take up up my suggestion from 2 years ago - just like the turn of the century P.C. Expo in NY's Javit center - Booth Babes (OK, likely copied from the autoshows of years prior, but still, us Tech guys liked them). Heck, just hire those same college age ladies from that era who would likely be in their late 30s-early 40s now. Works for me.

How often do they change the theme of the grill in the Young Building anyway? The retro-50s look was replaced with corporate bland self-serve. Eh, the hot-dogs were still OK.

Sorry to disappoint but the ticket sellers in the booths are provided by the Big E.  They are extremely efficient at what they do since there are shows throughout the year.

The restaurant theme is determined by and paid for the concessionaire operating the facility.

Actually there was a booth babe this year .A new vendor in the Young Building had a very attractive young lady walking around the show on saturday in red and silver spandex. Caught my eyes right away. I later visited their booth to see what they were selling !! So their advertising worked in my case !!! ---   Ken

Red and silver? I thought it was blue. Maybe there was more than one. Anyway, for the life of me I can't remember what it was her sign said.

For the record "booth babes" are not the ticket sellers - KemacPrr knew what I meant (and I don't recall any ladies wearing either silver or blue spandex).
And to be fair, the ticket sellers (both parking lot and show entry) were very pleasant people, so that's cool.

They gave my club a flyer on friday and asked if we wanted to test run their track cleaning product.   The club elected not to take the risk of issues with trains not running if there was some sort of problem.   The company was: https://www.deluxematerials.co.uk/en/
