<p>I just had one of those senior moments, which can make you despair! As that urban Z gauge layout is moving out of reach in terms of cost, I designed a small roundy-rounder layout, with just a couple of sidings and a spur leading to a quarry. I took a picture I found in the web as a guideline for it:</p> <p><img src="http://www.guidetozscale.com/assets/images/621perspective3.jpg" alt=" " /></p> <p>Looks kind of cute and would be easy to build - no grades a table top surface, foam "mountains". I then made a mistake - before investing all the time and sweat into making a nice drawing, I calculated the cost for all the track and switches. Now, hang on tight - a whopping $ 550! And that´s not MSRP! The "Bay" may bring that amount down to something friendly -. I have to check on that.</p> <p>I guess I´ll have to pick up a more useful hobby - like knitting, macrame or quilting ...</p> <p>Bah!</p> <p>[:'(]</p>
