Aerodynamics and slipstreaming on a titanium jetliner, definitely; on a 400,000 pound locomotive, I dunno.

 

I mentioned earlier that I collect pocket watches. I also collect antique telephones and radios. I have a Dreyfus phone. The real innovation (and form followed) along those lines was going from the candlestick to the 102 model, not Dreyfus's deco.

 

I'm typing this on a streamlined aerodynamic laptop; so much so that it has only one USB port and no floppy drive. Progress!

Larry, With flying at first it was a love hate relationship, but the reverse of your experience. I loved flying, but being paid $600 per month (starting airline pay during the 60's). It did double when I became a first officer (co-pilot), but still not enough to live on and buy brass locos. HZ

My first love was model airplanes, but a 35 year career in maintaining aircraft put a sour note on that.  Wanted a hobby that didn't remind me of work.  I am still amazed when I see real railroaders who are model railroaders.  Oh well different strokes I guess.
