Good Afternoon!

Janie, coffee and a slice of that chocolate cake, please.

I fired up my CAD program this morning to sketch a first idea for a rack and pinion railway, following the Schafbergbahn (sheep´s mountain railway) prototype.

The layout would consist of three modules, one depicting the station in St.Wolfgang/Austria, with its loco handling facilities, one "somewhere along the line", and the third one the mountain top station. The money I get for my On30 layout would more or less cover all the track and turnouts I need, plus a loco and car set. That stuff is quite expensive, but somehow cute. I guess Petra would love it ...

There are a couple of issues with the benchwork, though. The transitions in the grade have to be really smooth. So far I have no clue how to build the modules. I need to think about it.

Friday is the big day - I´ll be off to that Fremo narrow gauge convention. That should also generate new ideas ...
