I would like to start later this year a new HO layout modeled around Cary, NC. I have seen many locals with Federal Paper Board hoppers. Does anyone sell these?
LBF Company but they are Out of Business. Tooling sold to Huberts Model Railroad Mfg Corp but they are gone too.
I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.
I don't have a leg to stand on.
Huberts Models used to make them, which might be the same as LBF, but I don't see any new info from Huberts, either. You do see stuff from Huberts on Ebay occasionaly.
There are some high capacity wood chip hoppers that look close, but they don't have the bottom gates like the FBPX hoppers.

I did a search for LBF hoppers on eBay. I didn't find any lettered for Federal Paper, but do an eBay search for HO LBF Wisconsin Electric Power Johnstown Coalporter Hopper Custom Run. The photos of the model match the photo you posted. You would have to repaint them and find decals.

Have to agree Russell, the coal porter has 13 ribs, the 7,000 cu. ft. wood chip hopper has 19. The height of the coal porter is about at the center row of rivets on the FPBX.
I have a real federal paper hopper in the shop that I can't seem to get rid of . It needs to go to scrap but it will cost too much to move it so it is sitting at the shop . It has a damaged gate .

My bad! I just quickly compared photos, not bothering to count the ribs. Maybe two coalporters could be kit-bashed into the paper hopper?
Carknocker, I know scrape prices are at the bottom, here in WI., too. So, are you a scrapper? or fix rail cars? From what you have seen, did all FPBX cars have the bottom gate like the coal porter?

it came in with a damaged clam shell gate but the gate cost more than the scrap value of the car . It co be cosmeticly repaired for less
