Bachmann Track Cleaning Car
Posted by cowman on Friday, November 11, 2016 11:17 PM

What's a good product to clean the pad on a Bachmann track cleaning tank car?  Mine is definitely in need of cleaning, but I don't want to use something that will damage the pad or adhesive that holds it on.  I've thought of alchol, Goo Gone, track cleaning fluid or a fine wire brush.  Since I don't know what the pad is made of I'd  hate to use something that would damage it.  Less expensive to ask a question then replace the pad.

Thank you,

Richard

Just use some light sand paper on the pad...220+ grit shouldn't damage the block.

Charles,

Thanks for the idea.  Hadn't thought of anything but chemical.  Seemed to work fine, will see how the pads hold holds up over time.  Replacement pads are over $20 for a pair.

Thanks again,

Richard
