Morning!

I woke up early today and decided to be a grouch for the day! Another year older, but certainly not wiser! It´s my 58th birthday and I don´t feel up to celebrating this occasion. Lots of people from whom I don´t hear a word during the year will call me, extending their congratulations to me for something which just happens, whether I like it or not. Today also marks the official end of my unemployment, not in real life though, just in government statistics. I´ll be moved from the "unemployed, seeking a job" section to the " underemployed" section. There is no difference in the fact behind, but those figures don´t have to be published in the quarterly employment report. The section contains only twice as much people than the official unemployed figures report, so the actual unemployed figure is three times higher. I am drifting into politics, so I´ll better stop here.

The only nice thing the day is offering is that Petra will be making my favorite birthday cake - cherry crumble cake, yummy!

Ken - watch out with that wrist of yours. I got a terrible pain some weeks ago from cutting those 1,300 shingles for the roof of the engine house. I still have to be careful with it not to strain it too much!

Have a nice day!
