Jimmy_Braum

I've done an Alice's Restaurant.

I didn't think I was the only one to think of that. I haven't made the signs up yet but that will be the name of the newly installed restaurant which is in one half of the Branchline Dubois Store kit. It is in the summer resort town of Willoughby, a town name inspired by an old Twilight Zone episode. I found out last year that at least several other modelers were so inspired by that episode as well.

Other businesses on the layout don't have humorous names but instead were named to honor some of the late great model railroaders of the past. Willoughby is the home to the John Allen Photo Studio and the Westcott Inn. I'd like to add something to honor Andy Sperandeo and that will probably be in the last town I will be building on my layout, Summit Station, which is on the same branchline that terminates in Willoughby. I haven't yet decided what business to name after Andy. Suggestions anyone?

Drumguy
Probably the greatest worst name for a business ever: Cease Funeral Home in Park Rapids,MN. It's a real business. One of the staple businesses on my railroad will be the Conun Drum Factory.

Reminds me of a joke that was part of a George Carlin routine. He said when he was in a bus or train station he would avoid the Terminal Lunch Counter.
