Good Morning Gang!

Flo, a mug load of dark roast and a cinnamon roll, please!

30 years of marriage! Where have all those years gone? My son is just about in the same age as I got married, my Dad was as old as I am now. He is gone for over a year now.

Please excuse me, but I am a little bit sentimental today. 30 years is quite a long time and most marriages don´t make it that long over here. Those years have not been easy for us. Most of the time, my job got in the way of the life and the dreams we had. For years, we had one of those "weekend marriages", as my job took me away from home. How I hated that - especially when Christian was a little child. Last plane in on Fridays, and last plane out on Sundays. Only on rare occasions I was able to take the first flight out on Mondays. I remember times I woke up in a hotel room, not knowing where I was - still in London, or already in Paris? In those years, I tried to make up on the family life during weekends, but two days are not enough. Many a time my son cried when I left on Sundays. This literally broke my heart - one fine day I woke up in a hospital instead of a hotel room. I was 34 when I had my first heart attack.

Now Petra and I have all the time of the world. We enjoy being together. Of course, there is a little fussing and fighting, but nothing serious. It is just too bad, that we don´t have the life we had dreamt of for the age we are now in.

Blessings to you, my friends!
