In the past I've found Bachmann to be slow on the draw with emails but extremely helpful on the phone. Worth a call; the last time i needed a siderod nut for an Fn3 mudhen i ended up with the entire siderod assembly and only had to pay shipping.

Good luck

Cisco Kid
In the meantime, is there another supplier of a similar part that fits the Bachmann gear shafts which look pretty standard?

Scroll to the bottom of this page:

http://www.ppw-aline.com/re-power.htm

I recently replaced several wobbly shafts in some of my older Proto locomotives. There were enough parts in the 12030 kits to replace what I needed.

My only Bachmann diesel is an Alco S2 and I've never had it opened up but if the drive line is anything like what you see in the above link, I think you'll find the parts you need.

I think I bought mine from one of the Ebay sellers, but I'm sure there's other sources.

Good Luck, Ed
