I would like to see these made in HO, I'm in for a set.

I'd go for a set, too... As long as they were based on the old Life-Like tooling. I have a bunch of the L-L PAs and they are great locomotives.

BLI has them in the works in N scale.

It would be a pretty simple repaint job, I wonder if decals were ever available?
Go to 7:00 to see half of a GE switcher with the controls wired to a model railroad!
I wonder what happened to the cars from the train? They look like NYC or Santa Fe P-S coaches. They have REP (not HEP—it looks like there was a generator in the rear baggage car and power was jumpered through the train, much like Amtrak's HEP). The A-B PA-2s became NYC 4212 and 4308.
The Freedom Train would be a nice addition, too!

I will take the locomotive control stand for a model railroad..... That would be cool!
The PA units, however, I will pass on. Unless you make them as rebuilt excursion units. Then I might be interested. Otherwise, out of my modeling period.

I don't care who makes them as long they are accurate as built. I think it would make a good project for Athearn Genesis.
You missed them, about 18 years ago - Proto2000 did them.
The picture you posted is actually the Proto models.
Here are some that were recently for sale:

Looks like Walthers did a run more recently, but they are sold out:
