modge podge mixture
Posted by rs2mike on Thursday, December 17, 2015 8:13 PM

I had an idea for making trees.  Conifer trees in particular.  I want to use modge podge to preserve astilbee flowers.  Then once dried I am thinking of cutting the individual limbs off and then reattaching them to a carved trunk to make a pine tree.  Question is what is the mixture ratio to properly preserve the armatures?  Also what do you think of the idea?

Thanks

Mike

I used a similar method to what you describe. My ratio was 1 part ModPodge to 5 parts water. I made a rack out of furring strips, wire and clothes pins to hang the sage branch trees from to allow them to dry.

I used the Scenic Express method shown here:

YMMV
