Kato has just released the Amtrak ACS-64 City Sprinter and I have to say I'm a little disappointed with it. I would at least have liked to see the colors around the pilot where the connections are. Instead they just left it black. Easy enough to paint, but why should we have to. I was also disappointed with the look of the wires on top and the pantographs. I saw one at a train show and it looks pretty toy like. I would've preferred they used metal like Bachman did on the HHP-8.

I think the wires and the pantograph look pretty good but could benefit from a a coat of Dullcote or paint to get rid of that plastic sheen.

Well my Amtrak is coming in the mail. I bought the train set just for the coaches. If I go beyond 2014 I'll use it.
Are you looking at the model in picture form or only what you saw in trainfest? Trainfest models are in almost done to pre-production designs, that well show different results.

I was going off of both. The pre production model I saw looks just like the one in the picture unless that's a pre production model in the picture, but that wouldn't make sense.
