What Decoder for a MTH ES44AC
Posted by BNSFNewMexico on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 4:43 PM

I am purchasing an HO scale MTH ES44AC BNSF #7036 and I want to have a decoder in it, but I'm not a big fan of the PROTO Sound that comes factory installed in some of the models. I am fairly new to model railroading so I don't have a lot of knowledge about different decoders and that sort of thing. I've been looking at LokSound and Tsunami Sound, but was wondering if there is anything better. Any Suggestions?

Loksound.

Hands down, best motor control you can find with excellent sound. Way better than Tsunami.

I'm a Loksound person for the same reasons as Rick.  Better motor control and sound...

LokSound is the way to go.  The decoders offer great sound as well as motor control; the reason why manufacturers are switching to LokSound as the standard for factory installed sound units.

All the best.
