Walthers Northern Pacific Observation Lowery Paint
Posted by jeromeandwestern on Saturday, November 21, 2015 10:45 AM

Hi, Does anyone know if Walthers ever released a observation (tail) coach to go with the rest of thier Northern Pacific set? The closest I've been able to find is the old IHC stuff of which I have one but the paints not a good match. I also own the Kato. Where did they get those colors yuck? I'm considering repainting the lower half of that one simply because it's such a nice piece. If anyone can help me out I still have a left arm up for trade, I recently had to give the right one for a set of Horby locos out of the UK. Thanks, Wayne

I wish Walthers did that as well as I wish Walthers would make a Sleepr/Dome car and the correct North Coast Limited Dining Car. .. So far, they have not.

Hi they did make a dome car. If you go EBAY right now ther is a guy that has six cars for sale. Includes two dome cars one coach one diner and two different sleepers. Bid is $130 for the six ends in 19 hours and no I'm not bidding. Wayne

Yes, Walthers makes the dome/coach, but they do not make the dome/sleeper.

Hi, Wayne

Maybe it was a typo in your title but the color scheme is credited to Raymond Loewy

I agree that the Kato business car colors are a bit "off".

A bit?  The Walther's cars are a bit off, the Kato car was just in the "green" ball park. I think they missed the NP-green ball park.   I got the CB&Q business car instead.
