Replacement for MRC Command 2000 DCC
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 9:54 PM
I want to replace my Command 2000 to be able to enjoy all the sound features on the BLI steam engines. The Command 2000 has 3 throttles on the control console to control 3 engines without having to dial in an engine number.......I'm considering upgrading to Digitrax, but can Digtrax be set up to have multiple simultaneous throttles??

Thanks

Yes- all Digitrax systems support multiple throttles. They can be any combination of conventional "tethered" throttles or wireless throttles.

The Zephyr can support up to ten.

The Empire Builder can support up to 22.

The Super Chief can support up to 120.

Digitrax's DT400/DT400R and new UT4/UT4R throttles support 12 functions directly. The other throttles, including the one built into the Zephyr base unit, support eight.

Even though the throttle built into the Zephyr only supports eight functions itself, this doesn't limit the capabilities of throttles you plug into it- DT400/400R or UT4/UT4R throttles used with a Zephyr still support 12 functions.

Adding wireless capability is simply a matter of plugging in an appropriate receiver unit to the throttle bus wiring coming out of the command station. All current-production throttles except the UT1 and UT2 support infrared wireless operation if you connect a UR90 receiver. Radio wireless operation requires a UR91 receiver and Digitrax's radio-equipped throttles.
