Does anyone here have any of the BLI E's? I am considering an E8 from the new run but I have never seen one in person much less hear it and run it. I am not a big fan of their diesels but I love their steam. 

How do they sound? Is their even a hint there are two diesels in that car body? How is the detail on the E8 can you see through the stainless steel grills?

You don't mention, HO or N scale.....so If You want to see some previews...Google BLI E-8 Preview Video's, there are all kinds, I didn't give You a link, cause I don't know what scale. And I don't believe they had see thru. grilles, I didn't see any. Sound I guess was OK, I'm not a sound or DCC user.

MRR did a preview of the N-scale BLI E-8 also by Dana Kawala.

The BLI E units just came in to Walthers in the last few days. The ones we had pre-ordered shipped yesterday.

I have a C&O E-8 HO scale one (when they had QSI sound)

They are heavy.  They are sturdy.  They track well.  Yes the grills are photo etched, but not all grills are the same.  Some had chicken wire grills.  Some didn't.  But both are see through.

Some of the details (ie horn) are incorrect.  But overall it's a nice unit that pulls a ton)

Mine are BLI Blue Line Burlington E7's which I have owned for a few years. They have never had a problem. Sound great. Look Great. Have plenty of power.

Me too! When you have it please send me a message and let me know about it´s performance! As a T&P fan I´m looking forward for the 2-10-4. But in case it can´t run through my curves at least an E8 would be great! My T&P F7 ABA Unit needs some more T&P company, no matter if steam or diesel!

I have the Rock Island on order, havea CB&Q from previous run, it runs good.

I ordered a new run B&M E7 through my LHS,  I'll let you know how it sounds when I go to pick it up next week.

My E7A is in and it sort of sounds like 2 prime movers.  It sounds different than the Dual 567 option on the TCS WoW sound decoders.  Also check out my post in DCC section about this locomotive.

First-run 3-unit E-6 A-B-B set here from about seven or so years ago.  Decorated for the UP/SP/CNW "City of San Francisco".  Nice, heavy, beautifully detailed, great sound in both powered units (1 B unit is a dummy), pulls beautifully--in my case, about 10 Walthers UP "City" cars up and down 2% grades.  Not really into diesels, except for 1st generation, but these are beauties.  I highly reccommend.

I have been out of town all week but my daughter says the T&P E7 is at the house. I'll be able to test and run it on Monday so I will come back with a full report. I will load pics if I can figure out how. I am also thinking about the Santa Fe E6 AB set for a Texas Chief.

Last Thursday, was our work session at Boothbay, and I unpacked the 2 B&M E7s, programmed the road number into the decoder and gave them a brief test run. The sound is very good (engine, bell and horn) , and there is a lot of momentum programmed into the decoder. we will have to see if we want to back some of this out, for now  we will live with this and listen to the brake squeel as the loco slows to a stop.

Finally have had the chance to view and run the T&P E8. It runs very well and sounds pretty good. I had to turn it down a bit. Love the ability to manually notch with F5 and 6. I had a little trouble setting CV133 to a lower volume as the manual shows, as I could not get sounds back until I went through the resetting of addresses on my Powercab. But now all is well.

The paint is a very good match to the color photos I have as well as my Rapido cars. It's also a dead match to my Athearn Genesis passenger F7 AB set.

The only flaws are the single chime horns should be a forward facing 5 chime, Leslie? The as delivered photo I have from the Joe Collias book clearly show a 5 chime. It is also missing some grabs on the sides of the nose on top. It is missing brow grabs but I can't tell if they were delivered with them, but they were on by 1951. It's also missing grabs that are on the lower side of the nose above the yellow stripe per the Collias book picture. Also the tabs to the left and right of the fuel tank should be black. I will also replace the windshield wipers with Detail Associates as I am not sure what the flat stainless steel things hanging above the windows are. 

I can add the grabs, paint the sides of fuel tank but I am not sure how to tackle the horn without a mess on top of that roof. I wish manufacturers if they are not 100% sure about horns would just leave them off. It's much easier to add the right one than fill holes and match paint.

I recently bought a pair of BLI E7's (A and B) in NYC paint. Just love them! Great sound (QSI) and heavy puller's. Would recommend them!
