3m adhesive transfer tape in Canada

When my wife said she wanted to take a drive to town today I was immediately ready to go after reading about 3m adhesive transfer tape in the August issue. To Michael's I wanted to go. Searched with no go. I thought for sure it would be with the scrap booking stuff. We then tried Kent's, Home Depot, Canadian Tire and Walmart. No luck. My very smart wife looked online when we got home and it is a stock item at Staples. Thought others might want to know where to find it in Canada. Back to town tomorrow.

As a follow up... I went to town to see if Staples had any. I was told it was a discontinued item. I thought that was odd so I looked it up again on their website. It is a stock item! However, in the fine print it says online only. They have a variety of ways of getting items online, including store pickup. Just wanted to let everyone know... I'll be ordering mine up soon as I am about to build Campbell's Ayres Chairs which includes a bunch of corrugated siding.

Though it's not quite the same product as 3M's, in the scrapbooking section of almost any craft store (including JoAnn's and Michael's) you can find something similar, Mono Adhesive by Tombow. The difference between the products is that Mono Adhesive comes in a plastic dispenser that makes it easier to handle and apply, but it comes in only one width (about 3/16"). It comes in smaller quantities than the 3M product, and there's a difference price-wise, too. But if it's the kind of thing you think you'll use only occasionally, and are leery of handling the 3M stuff, the Tombow product might be worth looking at.

I liked the MR article about uses for this product, and I am planning to buy some to try it our myself.
