I have talked to the BLI technical people and they have sent both the Santa Fe engine and the new J1 PRR to QSI to find out what can be done. The J1 has the same puffing type problem. The problem is being worked on, but there is no answer as of today. They believed the problem came up when the builder used a slightly different motor compared to their prototype version. I installed a M1b tender on the Santa Fe engine for a test, and the puffing sound works correctly, so it is just a matter of the software. How that will be implemented and when is anyone's guess. <br />
