I was at the Calgary, AB Supertrain show today. While there, I met Bowser rep Scott Davis, who confirmed that Bowser will produce the CP Rail SD40-2F Red Barn.

I can but immagine the fun of putting other paint schemes on that model. (Warbonnet, for one)
That is interesting. I always liked the look of the 'Barns, although have only seen them in pics. Makes me wonder if there's room for a steam generator...hmmm, not in the budget right now, but that's going to change and I'd still like some passenger motive power a bit less long on tooth than F9s for my imaginary Rio Grande Four Corners Division.

Thanks for that info! A bit late for my era but a must have for my CP collection.
I contacted Lee English of Bowser today about why he decided to make the Red Barn after first deciding against it. He also shared the variations in the model with me. More info at http://cprailmmsub.blogspot.ca/2015/04/cp-rail-sd40-2f-red-barn-update.html
