airbrush paint
Posted by bnsf0823 on Thursday, March 5, 2015 7:02 PM

I have a Badger 155-7 dual action airbrush and i am looking for bottle attachments for my mircolux 2oz paint bottles.  I was wondering if the createx bottle adapters with the red caps are the same size.  If not does anyone have good ideas on what to use with this brush model?  Thanks

I'm not familiar with that airbrush, but if Badger doesn't offer anything suitable or have any suggestions, why not make your own?  Some brass tubing and an empty bottle of the type mentioned, along with its lid, and it shouldn't be too difficult to come up with something workable.

When I purchased my Paasche VL, one of the selling points was that it would accept bottles from Floquil, Polly S, Pollyscale, Testors, and SMP.  For those paint brands where the bottles were incompatible, I simply cleaned-up some of the aforementioned ones as the paint was used up, and transferred the new paint to them.  This can be done for the paint as you get it, or by transferring only the amount you need for a job, along with the appropriate thinner, to a bottle compatible with your airbrush.  Most lacquer-based paints will store well for some time after being thinned, while many thinned acrylics seem to have a shorter shelf life.
