I am 95% sure I have a cracked center gear in my PK 2 E-7. Besides Walther's what eles will work? I have a PK1 PA and PK1 F 7 gears if they might work. Will the Athearn Gear Trick work? The old style E-6 gears are way smaller then the E-7's, that I know.

If this model was made before Walthers purchsed the Proto product line from LifeLike, the Athearn gears will fit.
Cacole, any idea when Walthers bought Proto? They are the Blue Box version and I bought them around 2007.

The best way to know whether you have a cracked gear is to turn the model upside down and see if you can spin a wheel with your finger. If so, the gear is cracked.
I don't remember when Walthers purchased the Proto product line, but I think they continued to use the same gears for some time, before they changed the design. The only way to know for sure is to pop the bottom cover plate off and look at the gears. If they are black, Athearn gears will fit; if white nylon, only Walthers can provide replacements.
