I would presume this will be a G scale train. I would also presume there would be no turnouts to operate. The only other consideration would be to ensure the track is derailment proof so your son isn't injured by falling trains. <br /> <br />As far as cheap places to buy them, most of the model railroad magazines list many sources. Going on line can provide even more. Its just a matter of price shopping and reputable dealers. The price comparing is easy, but knowing if a dealer is what you expect takes a bit more research. I have found that typing the name of a business in the search window of my browser turns up information about it, both good and bad.
