Trouble viewing railpictures.net
Posted by yankee flyer on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 9:25 AM

Hey, It's related to proto trains. Whistling

I am having trouble viewing Railpicture from two different computers, two different browsers and two different antivirus programs.

They will lock up when trying to view the pictures at random moments.

I usually go to the site between 6:30 - 8:30 CDT.

One computer is running windows 8, Bitedefender antivirus, Internet explorer and Fire Fox.

The other computer is using Windows 8, Kaspersky internet security, with Internet explorer and Firefox.

I'm thinking it could be that they are dumping more pictures on site and the computers get locked out??

Anyone having this trouble?   Bang Head

Thanks a bunch.

Geared Steam

It's working fine for me Lee.

Thanks for your reply. I suppose not many modelers look at rail picks.

I enjoy the scenery and equipment from all parts of the world.

Have a good day.

Same problem here. Firefox is the browser, using Windows 7. The only web site I visit that locks up virtually every time I go there. Great site, but very frustrating.

Hello,

The problem is javascript.  Here are the instruction for disabling JAVA:

  1. Open Firefox
  2. In the address bar, type about:config then press Enter on your keyboard
  3. Please note, if your version of Firefox was pre-installed on your machine or device, altering settings in this was may void your warranty
  4. Otherwise, click on the I’ll be careful, I promise! button to continue
  5. In the search bar, type javascript.enabled to find the preference option of the same name
  6. Right-click on the javascript.enabled option, then click on the Toggle menu item
  7. The Value column should now read as false, meaning JavaScript is disabled. A Value of true means JavaScript is enabled
  8. Restart Firefox then visit whatismyipaddress.ricmedia.com to confirm JavaScript status
  9. To enable JavaScript, follow the steps again and Toggle it’s Value to true
