Change at Atlas??
Posted by rdgk1se3019 on Friday, February 14, 2014 1:19 PM

Has anyone noticed that Atlas has changed their part numbers?

A freind recently ordered an RS-3 Undec.

But the part number changed .......what he got was an RSD4/5 instead.........they won`t budge and neither will the hobby shop he bought it from.

Not that I can see, both the "Previous runs" and the most recent releases of the RS-3 and RSD-4/5 have the same part numbers for undec, 10 000 062 for the RS-3 and 10 000 525 for the RSD-4/5. The old Kato ones were 8450 for the undec RS-3 and 8490 for the undec RSD-4/5.

The Atlas RS-3 and RSD-4/5 bodies are the same . So one part number would cover both versions. ---  Ken

That should be logical. The only difference between the two , IIRC, was one had two axle trucks and the other had three.

Yes, the SHELLS are exactly the same. I'm assuming he bought a complete locomotive, with the chassis and shell.
