Sometimes it's cheap (new gas cap) and sometimes it's expensive (emissions). <br /> <br />"Condemning" is based on road worthiness. If the state feels your car is a hazard based on certain benchmarks (emissions and shocks and brakes, etc. It's takes more than one item.), they will impound the car. At that point, the state lists the required repairs needed to get the car back on the road (which is 99% of the time about 3X the value of the car). If you don't comply the car is scrapped. <br /> <br />Inspections are always a stress point in this state. One gentlemen today described it like waiting for your child to be born. At least now it every two years instead of every year.
