Hi all <br /> <br />Just got back from the land of cheese and dodgy auto electrics. Didn’t get to any hobby shops (they don’t seem to exist in the North-West of France – they all seem to be clustered around Paris and the Eastern border). We visited Mont St Michel, Dinan, and Arromanches (where the Mulberry harbours were built post D-Day – if you look on Google Earth you can still see traces of the breakwaters). Also just ordered some power trucks for the London tram that I built a while ago – I’ve given up waiting for the supplier to get hold of more maximum-traction ones, the equal-wheel type shouldn’t be too noticeable behind the sideframes and will run just as well. <br /> <br />Rob, I’ll have to try that stuff if I can find it. Still waiting for the whitemetal and brass bits I ordered to fini***he bodywork off to turn up at the moment, I was considering trying some varnish but after what happened to the other advert I’m leaning more towards a stronger glue. The E1 should be up and running soon though – trucks have been ordered. Think I may be on a bit of a tram buying spree over the next few weeks (when the next chunk of student loan comes through – think trams are a better investment than beer!) as now the use of lead is to be banned many kits will go out of production, so it’s a case of snapping up kits now and buying motors later (rather fancy an LCC snowplow and LCC Class C 4-wheel balcony-top car). <br /> <br />Scott, it’s well worth learning how to do an oil change yourself – you only need a couple of tools, a new filter, and something to catch the old oil. Saves you useful sums over having a garage do the work, and gives you a good chance to have a nose around the rest of the engine to check for anything else amiss. I can sympathise on the sunburn too – I usually come back from holidays looking like a vampire as I can’t go outside in full sun without burning! <br /> <br />Bye for now <br />
