Just an update on layout construction. I've been working on the background for a portion of the railroad yard. I've read quite a bit about combining painted background with photographic images & wanted to give it a try. Haven't landscaped yet, but the results are looking good. At least, I'm pleased with it so far. The sky & clouds I painted. The rest of the background are 5 different photographic images that I carefully layered & positioned to give a sense of perspective & distance. Looks pretty decent I think!
