HELP FIND FORUM Possible!
Posted by WRGMILW on Thursday, January 31, 2013 10:23 AM

To Our host

Could we get a place where We could post an item we are looking for & where we could answer !

We all want to help our local hobby shops sell stuff that did not sell , Maybe our shop bought to many NYC on the west coast.  Maybe the shop had to buy a case of something , but only needed two items to satisfy two customers . I hope you get my point.    Some areas have lost their hobby shops because they could not sell off unwanted extras.

Just asking !

Please note some shops order stuff , but cant sell it because the the customer lost his/her job. leaving the shop with an expensive item.

I doubt that this idea will find our host´s liking. After all, it is advertising and just like any other publishing business, much of the revenue of Kalmbach depends on paid advertising.

People come to the Forum to discuss the hobby, and they don't want to have to wade through advertising posts to get to the discussion. For that reason, we don't allow stores, manufacturers, or private sellers to post items for sale or links to store sites or auctions.

That said, it is already allowed for users to post inquiries about where they can get hard-to-find hobby items, as you suggest, and for people to answer. However, using "sock puppets" (false-front accounts) to post such inquiries as an opening for a vendor to then reply is frowned upon, and can result in a ban from the Forums.
