Did you happen to notice that the post counts and badges are back? Thanks to the IT folks. My day is complete.

I was actually getting used to none at all!    But do miss the location and join date.

I'd rather have the location and join date.  The location is especially useful when people from places 2 kilomiles from the action are commenting on some location-specific item in the Trains magazine forums.

[A couple of years back there was an incident in Las Vegas that generated three pages of yammer - only three posts of which (all mine) actually came from the Las Vegas Basin.  Most of the others demonstrated a profound lack of knowledge of local geography and conditions.]

Post count as a simple number doesn't differentiate between the profound, the meaningful, the relatively useful and the wastes of bandwidth...

Chuck and Bob:

I too would like to have a location and a join date. The location would give an idea of who's active in your area and allow for some potential collaboration. The join date, while not as important to me, would give the newer folks an idea of who the (hopefully more experienced) "old heads" are. But of course we can't have everything we would like Smile

I agree with all of the above and would add a request for the thread numbers being put back on the listing page so you can go straight to the last page you have read rather than opening the thread and then selecting the page.

Agree, location and join date are helpful and interesting.  Post count helped too, though some long time folks had few posts, gave an idea.

Have fun,

Yep, but it's still not right. Posts are being subtracted from mine. My profile shows 20,864 (correct) but my badges show 20,747 (incorrect). So it's still bogered.

Jeffrey:

Let's hope that they come up with a permanent fix. However, with your post count you should be eligible for a "Lifetime Achievement Award" and a row of Gold Medals. Smile, Wink & Grin

Whistling    We can solve the location problem ourselves.  Just put it in your signature on the bottom of your page as I did as soon as this last cuffuffal happened. > > > > DONE:
