Train show in Bellville, IL.

Went to this train show today, hat a waste of $7 entry fee. Did see an ABA set of CB&Q F3s by PCM for the California Zephyr. The vendor wanted $950. He also had five BLI passenger cars for the Zephyr at $110 each. I passed. What a waste of time.

With one of mine being 15 I wasted $14 on the trip to Belleville.  Hardly any layouts to see, though I do like the live steam G scale models that were on display. Nothing but high priced tired looking P2K boxes and tables of junk.   Not worth the effort IMO.

We will be there.  The best show in the area by far when you want to browse and shop.

Well I just got back from the show and my experience was much different :-) Among the 5th hand 70's junk were, if you looked very carefully, some nice old rolling stock. Im very into the old Train Miniature cars and this show, for once had ALOT of them. One dealer had at least 100 in the original boxes, including many of the tobacco cars, state cars, and the multi car sets. Also, the was a guy selling older out of production Classic Metal Works vehicles for $8 ea.! I enjoyed the live steam locos also and there where a few new N modules to look at,but mostly the same ole layouts you see every show.
Come on CMW, make a '41-'46 Chevy school bus!

hear-hear!!   last time i went to the Belleville show it was truly a bummer.  tired out old stuff offered at high prices by a bunch of professional hucksters.  i bought a few kits and the guy got all upset because i wanted to open the boxes and look them over.    later, after i found a bunch of parts missing, i knew why.

save your gas and $$$ for the Boeing show later this year.   model railroaders selling their own stuff at reasonable prices.  true bargains and no rip offs.  i wouldn't miss it.
