Changing the Bachmann 2-6-0 just a bit....

The new Bachmann sound value 2-6-0 mogul is a really nice looking and running locomotive,And after finding a similar ATSF engine In the Iron Horses of the Santa Fe the Bible of motive power  have started a very mild kitbash of a 2500 series Santa Fe mogul, Was a bit suprised at the husky / chunky look I achieved.

Simply removed the coal load and substituted a oil bunker Fashioned from Scrap styrene and changing the lettering to the correct number and color.....White instead of aluminum has made a wonderful difference I think.

Have a few other things to either add and or switch around but think i on the right track.

Bachmann has worked hard to upgrade quality and install value in it's products.

I am pleased with all 14 of my Bachmann locos.

You loco looks Great!

How does it run and negotiate track switches?

{Although they don't specifically market a 2-6-0 for the B&O as B&O loved their 4-6-0s, I may just have to fake it or get the pennsy one and give it "trackage rights" on my B&O ROW!! I love modeling differing eras. I have always loved the 2-6-0 mogul!}.

Just my thoughts, ideas, opinions and experiences. Others may vary.

 HO and N Scale.

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

The tender-bash is a nice idea.  It's nice to see these locomotives "evolving" out in the wild, taking on new and unique personalities as people integrate them into their layouts.

I bought one of these engines, too.  My LHS said they couldn't keep them on the shelves, and I got the last one of that shipment.

Mine runs great and has no trouble on any of my trackwork.  It handles the S-curves of Atlas snap-switches in my yard just fine.  The sound is bright and crisp, too, as you would expect from a Soundtraxx decoder.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

I thought the headlight was too small until I saw a pic of the prototype (Feb 1955, pg. 42). Still think a larger headlight would improve it.s appearance.
