Has anyone here tried the Miro Marks motors?

I am hoping for a direct fit. I bought some ill fated Bear Motors but the electrical leads touched the chassis. I did grind off some metal from the chassis for clearance but what killed the transplant was the off the wall reading I got when I tested them for power draw.
I did contact Walther's but they had no motors, the stopped making PK 1 F 3's in 1996. I all so rather buy a new motor and not a used one.

I used the A-Line 16 x 30 mm double shaft can motor to replace the single shaft can motors that came in several MDC loco kits I had (easier to add a flywheel to a double shaft motor in this case). These have proven to be smooth and strong pullers with low current draw. A-Line offers several sizes as well as motor mounts and flywheels for several brands of locos. Another option might be the Kato double shaft can motor. This motor is priced below other brands and seems to generate good comments although I have no first hand experience.

I have one of those motors and am contemplating using it as a replacement for the motor in an Athearn RTR GP35. The motor is just a little wider than the Athearn one so the fit into the hood is tight. The shafts are 2mm versus the Athearn 3/32 ones. So if you are going to use the Athearn flywheels you will need to buy or make sleeves. I'm not sure of the difference in the pulling power of the two motors but the amp draw of the MicrMark motor is below that of the Athearn one. It looks like a doable project with some time "cuttin and cussin".

Thanks Joe, let me know how it works out. I want to use the motor in a Proto, I have been told it is the same sizes as the one that came in it.
