Good morning fellow modelers,

I've been sitting here on the sidelines long enough, guess it's time to start participating in this forum-within-a-forum. (Most of you may recognize my name from posts to other threads, but if you don't, you can click on my profile.)

Tim, I hope your boy did OK with the surgery. I have a six-yr-old daughter myself, I can't comprehend the thought of seeing her go thru something like that[:(]...

siberianmo, congrats on getting a real-time internet connection, you'll soon be wondering how you ever survived without it!

I just passed a major hobby milestone myself: finally acquired some real estate for a layout of my own, by installing a new heat pump/AC combo unit in my two-car garage. I can already feel the difference, I no longer freeze when I go in there - even with this arctic blast that came thru Maryland. But I still need to put the insulation in the ceiling, a task which I positively DREAD! Just need to keep reminding myself that all the drudgery and itching (from handling fiberglass) will pay off someday, otherwise I'll keep finding excuses to put it off. I'm hoping that by posting progress reports here, I'll stay motivated to keep at it.

There is a set of 4 Kato SD38-2's waiting for me at my LHS, but now I can't afford them - I had to pay a plumber $450 to replace a corroded [leaking] water pipe, OUCH!!!! (Now you see why it took me 4 years to find the money to buy that heat pump...[banghead])
