Good Morning Folks,

I am having a bad time - you may call it the year end blues. Although I did not have any resolutions set for this year, I have not achieved anything in the past year. The family situation is unchanged, still not much of an perspective on the job front, and my MRR plans have come to a grinding halt. Yet I should be thankful that all of us are still around.

It has not been really a good year - not only for Petra and me, but also for some friends of mine. A few kost their jobs and are now looking into an equally bleak future as I do. I do hope though, that 2011 we be a much better year for all of us!

Barry - my [angel] go out to your friend!

Todd - my [angel] go out to your MIL as well!

Lee and Ken - how sweet of you to offer me some help, but as the situation at this end now stands, I cannot even afford to by the lumber for the benchwork. We are facing steep increases in our energy bills and gas prices next year, yet our "allowance" will be increased by only $ 5 a month. It has not been increased since 2005, which in effect means that we now have about 15 % less spendable money. There is absolutely no room for any extra. I will keep my dreams...

Ken - I do hope that your situation will improve and that you will keep your house. I know quite well what it means to live in a place just because the rent is cheap. We have tried to some success to make our place as cosy and comfortable as possible, but the surroundings are just not our "cup of tea" or should I say "glass of schnapps"? We have to cope with people here who lack any type of good behaviour. Outside of our door, the place is a mess, which keeps us from inviting guests. Our social life is more or less down to nil, nada, rien, nichts, nothing, niente. We miss our "former" friends, who proved not to be friends.

No, Zoe, no need to get out the soap box - this is neither a rant, nor a complaint - it is just stating the way it is. Yes, I´ll be having some coffee, please.

Peace on Earth and Good Will to Men!
