Hi all

Chilly and grey here, but not actually raining for once! Have been sorting out lighting on a Walthers Dash 8-40B I fitted a DCC decoder to on Wednesday - I re-used the original bulbs (was a bit worried about them burning out due to the higher voltage but they seem ok so far). Looks pretty good now - wired them according to the instructions with the Lenz decoder so now have directional, constant-intensity lighting.

Spent about an hour or so this evening helping out at the local theatre - one of my other hobbies. Every January we put on a pantomime (not sure if these are found in the States, basically it's an adaptation of an old fairytale-type story, this year's was Cinderella), and there's another group using the theatre next week so we had to clear everything down to the stores - about 1/2 mile away. Piled half a ton of stuff into the back of the Disco, set off, I drew the long straw in that I got to ride there and back rather than having to walk pushing the handcart loaded with scenery too big to fit in the truck! Major problem being when we got to the storeroom, all three lightbulbs in the building had gone meaning we had to put everything away by torchlight until some bright spark decided to try new bulbs...Cue chorus of "why didn't we think of that"! Always amazed we've not blown anything up down there, the wiring's a little eccentric to say the least!

Tomorrow's plan: Ikea in Cardiff, with a detour to a hobby store I found nearby on our last visit (great place, didn't know it existed until recently but they seem to have pretty much everything and anything, hoping to pick up a couple of Fleischmann HO passenger coaches to fini***he formation I've been building for a while).

Nothing else to report for now, thanks for the warm welcome to all!
